Journalism pays my bills, but fiction feeds my soul. While I was editing Band & Orchestra Product News, I neglected this aspect of my creativity for far too long. I’m currently working at "finding my fiction writer’s voice" once again. To me, this means setting aside a few hours every week to write fiction (or fictionalized accounts of real events) and networking with other fiction writers. I recently joined the Online Writer's Workshop for Science Fiction & Fantasy. Check it out!

 I also launched, last summer, a Writer's Workshop through Yahoo. Our membership fluctuates, but we currently have five dedicated writers that submit stories each month. Then we provide feedback on each other's work. I have a number of short stories in the works, some that I’m shopping to publishers, and a novel I’m very optimistic about.
